The MAVIG OT25B05 is a transparent lead‑acrylic shield designed for use in interventional radiology, fluoroscopy suites, or other imaging settings where scattered radiation protection is required. Made from leaded acrylic, it combines the benefits of optical clarity (visibility through the shield) with radiation attenuation (blocking scatter). With a lead equivalent of 0.50 mm Pb, it offers typical protection for general scattered radiation scenarios. It is often found integrated into Portegra2 ceiling suspension systems, allowing clinicians to position the shield over or between the imaging field and staff.

One of the notable design elements is the body contour cut‑out in the shield. This makes it easier to position the shield directly over or adjacent to the patient’s anatomy without creating large gaps in coverage or awkward angulations. The rounded corners and high fracture resistance are safety features to reduce the risk of injury if bumped or impacted. The shield’s 9.8 kg weight is relatively modest for a panel of that size, but still requires a robust mounting arm to maneuver reliably. In practical use, the OT25B05 often rides on Portegra2 arms enabling 360° or multi-axis movement in the operating room or interventional suite.

When installed, the OT25B05 shields staff by intercepting scatter before it reaches critical organs such as the head, eyes or chest. The mounting bar of 800 mm provides sufficient clearance for attachment to suspension arms, and the shield is centrally guided to move along its track.
