The MAVIG OT25B05 is a transparent leadâacrylic shield designed for use in interventional radiology, fluoroscopy suites, or other imaging settings where scattered radiation protection is required. Made from leaded acrylic, it combines the benefits of optical clarity (visibility through the shield) with radiation attenuation (blocking scatter). With a lead equivalent of 0.50 mm Pb, it offers typical protection for general scattered radiation scenarios. It is often found integrated into Portegra2 ceiling suspension systems, allowing clinicians to position the shield over or between the imaging field and staff.
One of the notable design elements is the body contour cutâout in the shield. This makes it easier to position the shield directly over or adjacent to the patientâs anatomy without creating large gaps in coverage or awkward angulations. The rounded corners and high fracture resistance are safety features to reduce the risk of injury if bumped or impacted. The shieldâs 9.8âŻkg weight is relatively modest for a panel of that size, but still requires a robust mounting arm to maneuver reliably.
