The AR-1800-07 Transportal ACL Guide by Arthrex is engineered for surgeons performing anatomical ACL reconstruction using the anteromedial portal (transportal) technique, offering a fixed 7 mm offset to optimize femoral tunnel placement. The 7 mm offset allows the guide to position the drill or pin slightly lateral to the tunnel centreline, enabling better access to the native ACL femoral footprint while still preserving the posterior femoral wall. This is particularly beneficial when aiming for anatomic reconstruction and when patient anatomy or knee flexion angle requires a more lateral starting point.
In practical operation, the surgeon inserts the guide via the anteromedial portal and positions the tip against the femoral condyle at the desired location. With the knee often flexed beyond 110°, the guide directs a cannulated pin or reamer through the femur according to the selected trajectory.
